The Nakuru Irrigation Acceleration Platform (NIAP) and the Seed Potato Community Action Research Project Plus (Seed Potato CARP+) programs hosted by the Division of Research and Extension of Egerton University, with support from of SNV – Kenya and RUFORUM-MasterCard Foundation, respectively, are organizing the above mentioned. This is being done in partnership with the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, National and Nakuru County Agricultural and Irrigation Sector Ministries, National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK), G-North and Sons and other private sector players.

The goal of these programs is to increase the productivity of water in various crop value chains with a focus on potato production, for the benefit of smallholder farmers. The aim of the day’s initiative is to share our first year experiences, create awareness of available opportunities in the irrigation and potato cropping systems sectors and forge sustainable linkages for improving food production and nutrition security amongst small holder farmers in Nakuru County.
